When you arrive at Prime Eye Care we will perform a number of tests to measure your ability to focus, differentiate between different items in order to assess your vision.

You should have eye exams / eye examinations at least once a year due to the fact that some eyesight issues tend to get worse over time if not addressed.

Eyeglass Prescription & Sunglass Prescriptions

Upon an eye examination we will determine the corrective lenses that you will need for clear vision. Dr. Lee will provide you with an eyewear prescription for recommended eyewear when your eye examination has been completed.

Contact Lens Fitting

Not interested in wearing glasses? Dr. Lee can also prescribe contact lenses for you as well. People know that glasses can steam up, become foggy and are affected by wet weather or water while contact lenses can give you clear vision with a much wider field compared to eyeglasses. If you enjoy sports or different types of exercise wearing contacts may more suitable for those types of activities.

The curvature of your eye will be measured to determine the proper curve and size of the contact lenses that should be fitted to your eyes. There are different types of contact lenses for different types of eyes and Dr. Lee will determine the proper contact for you.

High-Definition Eyeglass Lenses

There are more complex vision errors that may affect certain people (Higher-Order Abberrations). Prime Eye Care has High Definition Eyeglass Lenses that can address these issues. They can provide much, much sharper vision and even reduce glare while driving.

Progressive Lenses

Progressive lenses assist patients in their ability to focus on objects nearby (presbyopia ). Although not always the case, this condition progresses as we age (starting at around the age of 40).

The progressive lens is set at a varied gradient of lens power that gradually increases towards the bottom center of the lens.

Ortho-K lenses are special contact lenses that are gas-permeable rigid contact lenses. You may be familiar with the following Ortho-K type brand names:

  • Emerald
  • i-GO OVC
  • GOV
  • Wake & See
  • CRT
  • DreamLens

These Ortho-K Lenses are worn during evening hours. What these special types of lenses will do is assist in reshaping the cornea. The use of Ortho-K Lenses can be an alternative to Lasik or even just wearing eyeglasses.

Special Eyeglass Lens Coatings & Treatment

Your lenses can be specifically treated or have a special coating applied so that your eyes are even more protected from damage.

  • Anti-Reflective Lens Treatments: No one likes glare whether it's from headlights, sunlight or your computer screen. Not only can it be annoying but also dangerous. Especially when you are driving. Your lenses can be treated to be anti-reflective.

  • Scratch-Resistance Treatment: Have you seen glasses that have already been scratched (possibly from them being dropped accidentally). Welcome to scratch-resistant treatment where it is possible to treat the lens used for your eyeglasses to improve the lens strength and decrease its ability to become scratched.

  • Ultra Violet Lens Protection (UV): Prolonged exposure of sunlight to your eyes can damage them. Special types of UV protective coatings or treatments can be applied to your lenses to be able to block 100% of all UV light. You will not have to worry about Ultraviolet rays damaging your eyes.

Treating Eye Diseases & Infections

Phoropter used in eye exams
You look through the Phoropter (or Phoroptor) which allows us to determine your eyeglass or contact lens prescription.

At Prime Eye Care we treat certain eye diseases and eye infections that can affect one's vision.

If you have changes in vision please contact us right away. Early detection and treatment of the eye infection / eye disease is vital to protecting your vision and preventing vision deterioration or vision loss.

Treating Dry Eyes & Eye Allergies

If you continuously have dry eyes you may have a case of Dry Eye Syndrome or Keratitis Sicca or (lower quality of tear production). Symptoms include burning sensation, scratching or feelings of dryness in the eyes.

With eye allergies an allergic reaction is taking place which causes an increased production of tears leading to a runny nose. Eye allergies can arise from pollen, dust, pet dander, mold, etc.

At Prime Eye Care we will take a look at your issues with dry eyes and/or eye allergies and determine the best way to treat them.

Treating Corneal Abrasions

Your eyes have a clear layer of tissue covering the color area of your eye (iris). Corneal abrasions occur when there is a scratch or cut to the cornea which limits it from focusing light well.

Things like dust, sand, sawdust, dirt can get into your eye or excessive rubbing of your eyes, dirty contact lenses, etc. can also cause corneal abrasions.

If you experience pain or blurred vision in your eye(s) please contact Prime Eye Care as soon as possible.

Do not try to remove any particles that lie over the cornea. This could make the situation worse if the cornea is further scratched or damaged.

Co-Managing LASIK Procedures / Lasik Comanagement

Prime Eye Care will assist you with evaluating the possible option of the LASIK procedure(s). Not everyone is a good candidate for LASIK surgery or other LASIK procedures as there are risks involved. Dr. Lee will do all of the necessary testing to determine if it is in your best interest to have LASIK done.

There are situations where LASIK should not be done due to the patient's condition and Prime Eye Care will provide you an honest and up-front recommendation on whether to have LASIK done or not.

Diagnosis & Co-Management of Cataract Surgery

Tests and evaluations also must be done for patients who are considering Cataract Surgery. In some people the natural lens of the eye (called the crystalline lens) may become foggy over time. This can lead to slowly deteriorating vision or full loss of vision over time. With cataract surgery the crystalline lens is removed and a synthetic lens is applied in place of it restore visual clarity.

Cataract surgeries have low complication rates leading to high success clear vision restoration but as with any type of surgery, strict evaluations / tests must be done to minimize risk and increase the likelihood of success. Dr. Lee will evaluate your unique situation and determine if cataract surgery is safe for you and should be done.
